The Reading and District Bantam Society was founded in 1947 and exists to encourage those keeping bantams in the area.
Originally centred on Reading is now covers quite a large area with members from Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and further afield.
The Society produces a Bantam Bulletin which as well as containing show results has articles on bantams, news of forthcoming events and national shows together with plenty of current news of concern to the bantam fancier.

- A Poultry Club Championship Show in February usually at Northcroft Leisure Centre but in 2025 will be at Bracknell Leisure Centre. This is the biggest bantam show in the country with over 1500 birds. The show acts as host for several breed club and area club shows - Belgians, Japanese, Pekins, Sebrights, Welsummer, Dutch and the Rare Poultry Society.
- A Summer Show at Bradfield Southend Village Hall in June or July.
- A Youngstock Show at Bradfield Southend Village Hall usually in October but incorporated into the Regional Winter show for 2024
- A Poultry Club Regional Winter Show in November in 2024 at Southend Village Hall
